GGC5K Run

GGC5K is Cancelled

A few of you have been asking when the GGC5K will open again now that the State of Emergency is over and recreational activities are allowed. The simple answer is we don’t know.

We have asked the Golf Club to allow us to run again. They are considering this but also looking at charging to let runners access the course. We have sent a letter to them highlighting what a unique environment the Golf Club provides the Gaborone running community and motivating letting you run for free.

We have also said that we don’t believe charging runners is the way to go as this will see a drop in the number of people that attend our runs. Better we try and look for a corporate sponsor. To our mind, we are not in anyway an inconvenience as we run when the club is closed and leave no trace of our weekly 2 hours presence.

So please bare with us and as and soon as we hear back we will let you know.

Routes and GPX Downloads

You can download the routes as a GPX file and upload them on your running watch ( if gpx import is possible) or on your phone (you will need an app that can display gpx files).

We recommend RunGo for Android and IOS as a free app that incl. voice navigation. You can upload the gpx file on the app or just search for ‘GGC5K’ in the RunGo App.

However, any navigation app that can import gpx or kml files will do it )
